Trio House Press Staff
Established in 2012, 40+ Titles Strong: Trio House Press
In 2012, three poets put their heads together and formed a poetry cooperative. This group of poets established Trio House Press. In 2013, the press published its first books, the winner of the Louise Bogan Award: Clay by David Groff, selected by Michael Waters, and the winner of the Trio Award: Gold Passage by Iris Jamahl Dunkle, selected by Ross Gay. As the press grew, it became an independent nonprofit press located in Florida, continuing to publish several books per year.
In late 2022, Kris Bigalk moved into the role of Executive Editor, and the press moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since moving to Minnesota, the press has expanded its mission to include publishing creative nonfiction, introducing the Aurora Polaris Award. The first winner of this award, Lost Found Kept: A Memoir by Deborah Derrickson Kossmann, was published in early 2025.
Other new projects for the press include publishing all books since 2023 in e-book format and expanding our list to include creative writing prompt books, blank journals, and other products appealing to writers. To view our list and read more about all of our titles, click here.
